P2.4M ‘shabu’ seized in 3 separate drug busts in Cebu City
CEBU CITY, Philippines – Suspected shabu worth over P2.4 million was confiscated by law enforcers in Cebu City from three separate buy-bust operations on Monday and Tuesday, June 17-18, 2024.
In addition, a total of 4 drug peddlers operating in the metro were apprehended and sent to jail.
A joint operation between the City Drug Enforcement and Intelligence Units on Monday evening led to the seizure of 50 grams of suspected shabu with an average market value of P340,000.

At around 8:50 p.m, operatives arrested a 53-year-old man who goes by the alias “Dars” along Visitacion St. in Brgy. Sambag 2.
The suspect is detained at the Cebu City Police Office custodial facility, as of this writing. He will be facing charges for the sale and possession of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, another buy-bust was conducted in Sitio Bamboo Brgy. Basak Pardo, Cebu City at around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
Personnel of the Inayawan Police Station nabbed an alias “Melo,” 53, and an alleged cohort, 34. Both suspects are residents of the barangay. Authorities seized from the two suspects 210 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P1,428,000.
In addition, the police confiscated buy-bust money along with a black-and-white colored pouch where the illegal drugs were stored.
The suspects are currently detained at the Inayawan Police station custodial facility pending for the filing of drug charges against them.
According to police, Melo will be charged for the possession and sale of illegal drugs while his cohort will face a charge for possession of drugs.
A few hours later, another suspect was arrested during another drug bust in Sitio San Roque, Brgy. Banawa.
Guadalupe police apprehended a 38-year-old man who goes by the alias “Bilat,” and a resident of the barangay. Confiscated from the suspect was suspected shabu weighing 100 grams with an estimated market value of P680,000.
‘Bilat’ is now under police custody while waiting for charges for possessing and selling illegal drugs to be filed against him.
In total, P2,448,000 worth of suspected shabu were taken off the streets by law enforcers in Cebu City during the 2-day operations.
