Danao City robbery: P4.5M worth of merchandise stolen from stores
CEBU CITY, Philippines – Still unidentified robbers carted away assorted jewelries, cash, and other items worth over P4.5 million from two different shops inside a big retail store in Danao City, northern Cebu early Thursday morning, June 20, 2024.
The Danao City robbery was reportedly discovered by employees of the retail store located along Juan Luna Street in Danao City at past 7:00 a.m.
The targets of the heist were a jewelry shop and a shop selling cellphones and cellphone accessories.

Investigation conducted by the Danao City Police Station revealed that the perpetrators allegedly created a hole on the cemented wall at the back of the retail store as a point of entrance.
Upon entering the store, the assailants began carting away assorted pieces of jewelry, cellphones, and cash from a jewelry shop owned by a certain Rona, 31.
Meanwhile, robbers also allegedly took P170,000 worth of cellphone accessories from another store in the area.
The store’s management personnel estimated the stolen goods to be worth a total of P4.5 million.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Ike Arriola, chief of Danao City Police Station, they are still conducting a follow up investigation and manhunt operation against the suspects in the Danao City robbery.
Law enforcers in the city are currently checking Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footages of nearby establishments in order to determine the identity of the robbers.
Moreover, they are also coordinating with other police stations in surrounding areas for the suspects to be apprehended immediately through a hot-pursuit operation.
Danao, a third-class city in the province of Cebu, is located approximately 47 kilometers north of Cebu City.
