A 50-YEAR-OLD man was killed while his companion was wounded in a shooting incident in barangay Bulacao, Cebu City last Thursday afternoon.

Orlando Pardillo Abelgas suffered gunshot wounds in the chest and back, while Henry Maloloy-on Amaquin, 38, was wounded in the chest.

The two were shot inside the car of Abelgas, police said.

Abelgas, a resident of barangay Casuntingan, Mandaue City, was declared dead at the H.W. Miller Memorial Sanitarium and Hospital.

The motive of the killing may have something to do with illegal drug activities, said Senior Insp. Eunill Avergonzado, chief of the City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Force.

“There is a big possibility that the killing was drug-related,” said Avergonzado.

Avergonzado added Abelgas was a member of “Jaguar’s group.”

Police said Abelgas had just played volleyball across St. Paul Academy.

He went to his car parked nearby when two armed men arrived and opened fire.

Police said the incident will be investigated further.
