Although barely an adult at 13, Cebu Home and Builders Ceter is already building an esteemed mark in the construction industry with Cebu Oversea Hardware, its mother company, at the helm.
It has 5 stores all over Cebu and the first one was constructed in Banilad and so far the biggest. There were other four that followed namely in Mactan, Pardo, Consolacion and the most recent one, in Tunghaan Minglanilla.
The Minglanilla branch is a commemorative one because it was launched in time for the anniversary month of Cebu Home Builders where it is currently having a 50% promo offering for the whole month. The Minglanilla branch is nestling at the 2,000 square meter property and housing about 17,000 SKUs.
James C. Co, Cebu Home and Builders Center chief operating officer said that an additional branch indicates very promising growth in the construction activities in Cebu. He is confident that the company may surpass last year’s performance.
He added that many real estate projects are now in the turnover phase so he is expecting home improvements with owners buying furnishings and fixtures. Cookie Abing, Cebu Home and Builders operations manager said that bulk of their buyers are home owners. She further said that although developers import their own materials, a market pie for retail is still huge.
In the next 3-5 years, they are seeking to expand in Bogo and Mactan. They are not keen on expanding outside Cebu since they are strengthening their dealership base. They have strong presence already in the provincial areas with a network of 200 dealers nationwide where hardware stores and depots often source their materials from them.
Abing said 70 percent of the articles in Cebu Home and Builders are local while 30 percent are imported, mainly coming from Thailand, Malaysia, China, and New Zealand among others.
Cebu Home and Builders Centre is the first of its kind do-it-yourself (DIY) concept retail store in the region. It also includes three specialize divisions that cater to specific industry needs; Expo for Lifestyle Toilet and Bath Solutions, Light System for specific Lighting Solutions and Living ‘n Style for furniture needs.
