THE Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) announced in a press conference on Friday that they will conduct a search for the Regional Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya.
DSWD-7 Regional Director Mercedita Jabagat said the search aims to recognize the beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilya who demonstrate positive Filipino values.
The search is open to all family beneficiaries of the program who have been enrolled for at least two years and have complied with all the requirements of the program.
The family must consist of the father and/or mother, which means solo parents are qualified and child/children.
DSWD-7 has already conducted provincial searches in Bohol and Cebu last July 7 and July 9.
They will also conduct provincial searches in Siquijor on July 13 and Dumaguete City on July 15.
“Top provincial winners will automatically compete in the regional search. The winner of the regional search will represent DSWD-7 in the national competition,” she said.
Now on its third year, the search criteria includes maintaining family ties and harmonious relationship while upholding Filipino values despite the challenges of poverty.
All provincial and regional winners will get cash prizes and transportation assistance from the DSWD-7.
The regional search will be on July 23 and the awarding ceremony will be on Aug. 13 at SM City Cebu.
Last year, the Ewican family from barangay Alegria, Carmen, Bohol was the second runner-up in the national level.
