Man shot in downtown Cebu City

A businessman was shot dead while driving along Osmeña boulevard, Tuesday morning.

Jaime Villaceran was on his way home after sending his child to school at around 7:30 am when a man on moyorcycle shot him while waiting for the stop light to turn green near Novo mall.

The gunman immediately fled after the incident.

Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) enforcer, Telezardo Gonzales called for a police dispatch.

Seven empty shells and a deformed slug was recovered from the crime scene. Police also recovered P327,000 cash, four firearms with live ammunition and notebooks from his van.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama asked the police to look into the case.

“There’s a crime. Look for the culprit,” Rama said in a press conference, Tuesday morning.

He said he will meet with City Hall’s Police Coordinating and Advisory Council (PCAC) regarding the incident.
