Marriott rules HRRAC bowling tourney

The Cebu City Marriott Hotel was crowned champion in the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu (HRRAC) bowling tournament held at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center yesterday.

Composed of Marlon Galo, Editha Tenchavez, Fe Pajaron and Kerrwin Sanchez, the Marriott team finished with 517 pinfalls in the masters round to emerge as the top team.

Sanchez led Marriott with 181 pinfalls in the masters. He also had 155 in the eliminations, wherein Marriott finished second with 505 pinfalls. Only the top three teams out of the 16 participants in the eliminations made it to the masters.

The Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, meanwhile, secured second place honors after finishing the masters with 460 pinfalls.

The Waterfront quartet of Jansen Quiñones, Joanna Marie Xy-Za Ochoa, Charmaine Lou Despues and Jesus Sala Jr. was the third and last team to qualify for the masters after finishing the eliminations with 488 pinfalls.

The top team after the first round was the San Remigio Beach Club, which downed a tournament-high 518 pins. But San Remigio, manned by Antonio Ynoc, Jane Antonette Ynoc, Mary Antonette Ynoc and Edrian Lao, settled for third place after finishing with 447 pinfalls in the masters.

The bowling tournament, which is part of the ongoing sportsfest of the HRRAC, was hosted by the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) headed by Gretchen Tormis, Angelito Gothong and Joe Chu. It was participated by teams from different hotels, resorts and restaurants in Cebu which are members of HRRAC.
