The official bike route of the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines will be tested by more than a hundred triathletes today as Cebu-based Tri Life Magazine hosts a ride out that will start and finish at the historic Lapu-Lapu Shrine in Mactan Island.

The 150 plus triathletes will traverse 60 kilometers of the entire 90k bike route of the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines.

According to Sai Mayol of Tri Life Magazine, the assembly time for the ride out is 5:30 a.m. with the test ride set an hour later. She reminded the riders to take extra care during the test ride.

Their first stop will be the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) then proceed to the tunnel entrance at the South Road Properties (SRP) where the riders will be allowed to ride at their own pace. The turn-around point will be at the first intersection in SRP in Talisay City.

The riders will be escorted by personnel from the PNP to ensure their safety and security.

The riders will stop at the Lantaw Restaurant at the SRP then ride back to the Lapu-Lapu Shrine in Mactan.

Meanwhile, organizers of the Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines headed by Sunrise Events Inc. (SEI) project director Princess Galura along with Cebu Provincial administrator Atty. Mark Tolentino, PNP officials and CITOM personnel will conduct the mandatory ocular inspection of the entire 90k bike route simultaneous with the ride out.
