City Hall team shuts down Citilink terminal
The One Citlink terminal in Natalio Bacalso Avenue was shut down yesterday by City Hall personnel.
There was no resistance from tenants and drivers when closure notices were posted on the walls and police installed railings at the entrance, said Wendell Cenas, acting chief of the Prevention, Restoration, Orderly, Beautification and Enhancement (PROBE) team.
At least 300 southbound vans-for-hire and about 10 vendors were asked to vacate the terminal.
Philip Barrientos, the terminal’s manager, said they were shocked by the arrival of the PROBE team since they didn’t receive any closure order.
He said he heard about the plan to close the terminmal last Monday.
The terminal has more than 10 tenants doing businesses like cafeteria, food stalls and a pharmacy.
With the closure, passengers will now walk to the temporary terminal at the parking space in Taboan Public Market.
