Cebu’s triathlon poster boy Yuan Chiongbian displayed his racing prowess in the Alaska IronKids, dominating the 13-14 year old race category with a tournament best time of 42 minutes and 50 seconds.

The 2014 Batang Pinoy gold medalist logged in with a time of 7:05 in swimming, and 13:12 in running while placing second in the bike race clocking at 22:35.

“I really had so much fun. I  didn’t expect my performance today because I just came from a race in Singapore last Saturday,” he said.

The 14-year-old Chiongbian, who is hanging up his shoes in the IronKids division, is looking forward to the duathlon in September and the upcoming Youth Olympics.

“My goal is to get faster, win a couple more races and qualify for the Olympics,” Chiongbian said.

Lucian Antonio Alejo, who won the bike race by a fraction of a second over Chiongbian, finished second in the overall rankings with a time of 45:51.

John Caleb Barlin placed third clocking at 45 minutes and 53  seconds.

Cancer survivor Rainier Raye Chio made an impressive finish coming in 27th overall in the triathlon. Chio started with a strong track posting with a time of 9:24 in  swimming.

Michael Gabriel Lozada, Ma. Chelsea Faith Minoza and Maria Michaela Recilla ranked in the top three in the 6 to 8-years-old division.

The 9 to 10-years-old race category female division was led by Lorayne Lencioco, Moira Frances Gabri Erediano and Emma Bertel.

The male division had Justin Christopher Yu, Vince Joaquin Kais and Xeemon Villo Cuyos on top.

The 11 to 12-years-old category was led by Juan Francisco Baniqued, Tara Borlain and Catherine Angeli Yu.

Swimmer Raven Faith Alcoseba came third in the spurt on her first triathlon with a running time of 37:07.8. The Cebuana is widely recognized for her gold medal finishes at the CVRAA earlier this year.

Relay divisions were dominated by triathletes from TLTG as their squads finished first and second in both the 6 to 9- years-old category and 10-14 age category.

TRIME came in third with a time of 22:39 while Team GKA and Team Badabong wrapped up the race in third and fourth place, respectively, in the relay 10 to 14-years-old division.
