A 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed allegedly by his neighbor in barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City at dawn yesterday.
Reymar Pespenan was sleeping in his room when he was stabbed in the chest by Juan Casas, said police.
One of the victim’s boarders, Gina Homecillo, 47, told police that she heard a commotion from Pespenan’s room around 4 a.m.
The boarder rushed to the victim’s room and saw the fleeing Casas.
Homecillo later found Pespenan bloodied. The victim was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital where he was declared dead.
Police conducted a follow-up operation but failed to locate the suspect.
Police said the two men bore grudges against each other.
