The Ayala-led Isuzu Cebu, Inc. expects higher sales this year with the opening of a new showroom at the Cebu north reclamation area.

Steve Gingco, Isuzu Cebu general manager, said the location of the new showroom will encourage more walk-in clients and ramp up sales.

He also said Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) is scouting for potential sites for two more showrooms and service centers in the Visayas.

The new showroom, located along A. Soriano St., is Isuzu’s biggest and most expensive in Cebu, Gingco said. It serves Cebu, Mandaue, Bohol, Iloilo and Talisay.

“It has a space of 1,000 square meters, which has a capacity to hold up to eight vehicles including heavy trucks,” he said during the launching on Friday.

Gingco said Isuzu Cebu has been selling close to 300 vehicles a month for this year, more than double the total sales in Central Visayas last year.

The opening of the showroom last Friday coincided with the Isuzu Truck Fest Cebu from Aug. 8 to 14. Isuzu will be showcasing eight Isuzu trucks and two Isuzu engines during the truck fest. /PIT Intern Mariel Grabillo
