A 39-year-old woman and her husband died after their motorcycle collided with an SUV at 5 a.m. yesterday in barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

Suzette and Joselito, 49, were rushed to the Mactan Doctors Hospital by paramedics  but did not make it alive.

PO1 Jennifer Decatoria, investigator, said that Joselito was driving the motorcycle to bring Suzzette to the Mactan Export Zone where she worked.

Upon reaching barangay Mactan near Bigfoot Studios, a speeding Subaru SUV (AIR 230) driven by  Haitm Omer Ammar, 27, a Libyan national Aeronautic student, swerved to the motorcycle’s lane and the  couple was thrown meters away, causing them fatal injuries.

Police found that the same SUV figured in a hit-and-run two weeks ago.

Ammar was arrested and is detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police headquarters.

Ammar admitted to the police that he fell asleep while driving,  causing his car to swerve to the opposite lane.
