THE Architects + Engineers Basketball Association raises the curtains on its very first Corporate Cup today with a three-game bill over at the University of San Carlos gym.
The tournament, which aspires to forge camaraderie among licensed architects, engineers and registered master plumbers through the game of basketball, was launched on Friday evening during a small gathering that was held at the Sunburst Restaurant along Mango Avenue.
Gracing the event were the different team captains of the six participating teams, namely Dorma, which is being manned by the core of the Davies Paints Cup champions, Fusion; Cabinet Members Inc., Davies Paints Philippines, Fenestram Fabricators, Megabond and Phoenix Building System Corporation.
Presiding over the event were A + E president Paolo Alberto and vice present for operations, Josephril Partosa.
Teams will play in a double round-robin in the elimination round with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals where the top two squads will also gain a twice-to-beat advantage.
Winners in the Final Four round will battle it out in a best-of-three championship series.
