Jonas soon to reveal complete LP lineup
Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes is set to announce next week the official lineup of the Liberal Party in the 6th District for the 2016 elections.
Cortes, who left yesterday to attend the LP national convention in Manila today, said they already have an initial lineup which includes 6th District Rep. Gabriel Luis “Luigi” Quisumbing.
“In principle, we have an agreement. I’ll be running for congress but we still have to finalize it. We have to wait for the final lineup in the national level,” he said. Former Interior Secretary and LP standard-bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas III is expected to officially announce his official running mate today.
Asked on Mandaue City Councilor Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon’s plan to bolt out of the LP if her bid as mayor of the city will not get the party’s support, Cortes said he respects her decision. “We have to respect her decision.
Hopefully, there will be a decision soon. It will be biased if I will decide on it. A committee is needed to settle the matter,” Cortes said.
