St. Paul Learning Center Ruby-Jubilee Run set tomorrow
ORGANIZERS of the Saint Paul Learning Center (SPLC) Ruby-Jubilee Run are all geared up for the race scheduled Saturday at the Sumilon Road of the Cebu Business Park.
As of press time, 600 runners composed of students, alumni and regular runners, have enlisted for the running event that features 10-kilometer, 5k, 3k, 1k and 100-meter dash distances.
The fun run is held in line with the celebration of SPLC’s 40th anniversary.
“We are excited to stage this running event and see familiar faces from SPLC,” SPLC ex-principal and now Beacon House Philippines Academic Manager Dr. Nazelita Malaga said. “I think this running event will be a perfect activity to bond.”
The running event’s proceeds will go to SPLC’s adopt-a-school program that benefits neighboring public schools. SPLC conducts this kind of charitable program every December since the 1990’s. This program includes feeding, distribution of school supplies and repainting of old school buildings.
Cash prizes will be given out to the top three finishers in the 5k and 10k distances. The top 10 finishers in the 10k will receive a finishers medal while the top 40 Paulinians, alumni and students will also receive a finishers medal.
Registration is still going on at the RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu, Infinitea at the City Times Square in Mandaue City and at SPLC.
The run will kick off at 5 a.m. Saturday.
