milo marathonCommuters and jeepneys especially from Guadalupe, Banawa, Labangon, Lahug and Apas  will have to take a longer route for a few hours tomorrow to reach downtown.

Traffic will be rerouted on some major streets in Cebu City to give way to the 39th National Milo Marathon.

The rerouting will start at  3 a.m. and will stay  in place until the Milo Marathon is  finished, said the  Cebu City Traffic Office advisory.

The streets to be affected are Osmeña Boulevard, P. del Rosario Street, N. Escario Street and Don Gil Garcia Street.

Rey Gealon, CCTO executive director, said they will deploy at least 150 traffic enforcers during the marathon to assist, direct and control traffic flow along  the   route.

“These personnel are deployed along the route as well as those arterial roads that may be affected,” he said.

One of the routes affected is the  Guadalupe-Banawa route.

Jeepneys shall take V. Rama Ave., left to J. Alcantara St. or N. Bacalso Ave., left turn to P. del Rosario St., right turn to Osmeña Blvd. to the usual route, and then to Carbon Area.

In going back to Guadalupe, the PUJs can follow the same route going to V. Rama Ave., then back to the point of origin.
