VICSAL Foundation Inc. joined the celebration of International Coastal Clean-Up Day by conducting a simultaneous cleanup drive in Metro Cebu last Sept. 19.

The activity was in coordination with the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Almost 100 volunteers from Vicsal affiliates, such as the Metro Retail Stores Group Inc. (MRSGI), Wealth Bank, Taft Property Venture and Global Group Investment and Property Holdings joined the activity.

The MRSGI & Wealthbank employees, who were assigned to clean the Butuanon River in Mandaue City, retrieved almost 30 sacks of trash consisting of plastic wrappers, cloth, styrofoam and broken glasses.

Volunteers from Taft Property Venture cleaned the streets of Gen. Maxilom Avenue and Cogon-Ramos in Cebu City, while those from Global Group collected trashes from the coast of Cordova, Cebu.
