44 inmates take Civil Service exam

A total of 44 inmates in Central Visayas took the CSC Professional examination given by the Civil Service Commission last Sunday.

Fourteen of them come from Cebu Province and the rest from Negros Oriental.

This is the first time for the inmates to take the career service eligibility since the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) was created in 1991.

BJMP Regional Director Serafin Barretto Jr. coordinated with the CSC-7 for the conduct of examination to qualified inmates. This is to help certified inmates find a job in the government sector when they are released from jail.

The bureau also coordinated with the Regional Trial Courts which have jurisdiction over the inmates’ cases for issuance of the proper court order allowing the inmates to take the examination.
