FIFTEEN families were left homeless after eight houses were razed in an early morning fire that w was caused by a leaking butane canister used for cooking in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday.
The fire started around 5 a.m. in the house of Arnel Tunacao in sitio Seabreeze.
The fire was contained in 15 minutes. Fire damage was pegged at P300,000.
Last year, a fire also broke out in the densely populated area, said SFO3 Climaco Salisid, arson investigator of the Lapu-Lapu City Fire Central Department.
Tunacao told investigators that he didn’t notice that the butane canister he used for cooking was defective.
