Cebu is haze-free, EMB says

THE regional Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) declared Cebu haze-free.

Engr. Marcelino Tabuco, acting chief of the EMB’s environmental monitoring and enforcement division, said their data showed that Cebu’s air contained 38 micrograms of dust particles per cubic meter.

He said this is below the ceiling of 75 micrograms per cubic meter of dust particles that can be tolerated by people.

He said the amount of dust particles in the air can be caused by local pollution from vehicle smoke emissions and from local industries.

But Tabuco still advised those exposed mostly in the outdoors like vendors to continue wearing N-95 masks,
