Convergys sweeps Teleperformance to win E-League crown
A NEW champion was crowned in the 11th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball after the Convergys Converters outlasted the Teleperformance All-Stars, 71-63, in Game 2 of the Elite Classic best-of-three championship series last Sunday at the CSC-C Gym.
Franz Dionne Dysam, the former Letran Knight, was superb in the title-clinching victory, stepping up big when the Converters needed him the most as he fired 10 of his 19 points in the hard-fought fourth quarter.

Dysam highlighted his endgame brilliance by scoring seven straight points in the final two minutes.
The defending champions All-Stars refused to hand the crown on a silver platter when they forged a 63-all standoff in the final minute of the contest. But with Dysam leading the charge, the Converters delivered the final nail on the All-Stars’ coffin by ending the game with a fatal 8-0 attack.
The Converters thus swept the title series after also winning Game 1, 68-82.
As a team, it was the Converters’ first title, completing the feat in its very first season. Aside from the Converters, Convergys also fielded in a second team for this year in the Blue Devils.
As a franchise, Convergys nailed its fourth crown after winning the championship trophies in 2006, 2007 and 2009.
Apart from producing the needed points, Dysam also made his teammates look good by dishing out 11 assists. He also had three steals and a rebound as he went on to win the Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
Lourenz Limpangog and Sherwin Anghay backed Dysam with 18 and 15 makers, respectively.
Rodulfo Enterina III was the lone All-Star to score in twin digits in the crucial match with 11 markers.
Top performers in Elite Classic were recognized at halftime of the Teleperformance-Convergys match.
Leading the awardees was Lexmark’s Franco Cipriano, who was named the season MVP. He was joined in the Mythical Five by Ryan Veloso of Teleperformance, Ildefonso Bulangis Jr. of Accenture, Archie Batua also of Accenture and Sylvester Millevo of Lexmark.
Statistical leaders were also recognized. SSI’s Dennis Poquita was the leader in steals with 3.71 a game. Cipriano was the top blocker with 2.86 per outing, while Lexmark’s Vill Duero was the assist leader with 4.25 a game.
SSI’s Lawrence Agas bagged the scoring champion title with 22.38 points a game.
