A GRADE 4 boy  in Argao town, southern Cebu who was busy chatting with  a pupil  instead of paying attention in class was wounded in the eye when  his teacher threw a piece of wood at him on Monday afternoon.

The incident was later amicably settled between the boy’s mother  and the teacher in the principal’s office , said Senior Insp. Alejandro Batobalonos, chief of the Argao Police Station.

Police said the 25-year-old teacher got irked when she noticed the boy  talking with  with his seatmate during  class.

She  tried to call his attention but the  11-year-old boy did not notice her.

The teacher then threw  a woodenjalousie board at the boy, hitting his face.

The boy was later brought by his mother to the hospital to treat a contusion in his eye.

The mother reported the incident at the police station but decided not to press charges against the teacher.
