TEAM Original of Christopher Rey Caruana grabbed the solo top spot after it escaped Team Alce/Jetz of Anthony Alce in overtime, 83-79, last Saturday in the 2nd Randall Cup Christmas League at the Cebu Eastern Collage Lower Court.
Jake Diamante led the way for Team Original with 30 points. Caruana added 15 markers and JR Umbay added 11 as Team Original notched its third win in four games.
Jetz Mellijor fired four triples to lead Alce/Jetz with 17 points but his efforts went to naught as his team fell to 2-2 (win-loss).
In the other game, Team Lumad pulled off a 92-83 win over CY Boys All-Star of Manny “Earl” Ching.
Team Lumad was paced by Carlo Salinas, who piled up 21 points. Harold Tan and Dadu Caña added 18 and 17 markers, respectively.
