AN apartment owner was shot dead while playing a card game with his friends in his house in barangay Quiot, Cebu City last Wednesday afternoon.
Alfonso Bayani III, owner of Bayani Apartment in Bayanihan Village in Quiot, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
Police said the victim was playing “tong-its” with his friends when a man, who was wearing a helmet, entered his house.
Police said the man was heard asking the group, “kinsa maoy Jun ninyo (who among you is Jun)?”
Bayani replied “ako (me)”. The assailant then drew a .45 caliber pistol and repeatedly shot the victim.
The gunman fled after the attack.
Paramedics tried but failed to revive the victim.
SPO2 Rommel Bancog, homicide investigator, said police will check the background of the victim to determine the motive of the killing.
