AFTER AN EASY win in the first round, Cebuana netter Hanna Espinosa faltered in the second, losing to Hannah dela Cruz, 5-7, 6-4, 9-11, in the Peugeot Philippines Tennis Open regional qualifiers yesterday in Cabanatuan City.
Espinosa won her first match against Alyssa Reyes via default.
But she hit a brick wall in the second against Dela Cruz, who took off to a strong start and finished with a bang to advance to the next round.
Despite the loss, Espinosa still has a chance on advancing to the National Finals as she is set to join forces with Erika Manduriao in the women’s doubles competition.
