Packs of suspected shabu worth P1.2 million were seized from a 33-year-old woman, who was arrested in a buy-bust operation in barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City yesterday.
Mary Ann Ruta, who once worked as a dancer in Japan, was arrested after handing a pack of shabu to an agent of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7), who posed as a buyer.
The transaction took place at the corner of Sumilon and Camiguin roads in Cebu Business Park.
The woman arrived at the agreed meeting place on a taxi, police said.
Ruta, a resident of Juan Luna Avenue, Cebu City, said someone only asked her to deliver the packs.
Police said they recovered seven packs of suspected shabu from the woman.
