THE Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) has installed tents and provided chairs in anticipation of the huge number of travelers this holiday season.

Chona Quijano, technical personnel of CSBT, said they have also set up medical and police booths to ensure passenger safety.

Tarpaulin posters that indicate the different destinations have been hung to guide travelers.

“Gabutang ta ani para dili yagaw ang paglinya sa mga pasahero. (We installed this so that the queues would be orderly),” she said.

Quijano said a lot of people are expected to travel back to their hometowns during the holidays, especially on December 23 and 24.

“Posible kaayo nga mas daghan ang mga pasahero run kay taas man ang ilang bakasyon kay long weekend man. (It is possible that there will be more passengers this year because of the long weekend),” she said.

She was worried that the tents, which will serve as waiting areas for passengers, won’t be enough.

“Kuwang gihapon ang tents tapos magbarog gihapon ang mga pasahero (We still lack tents. Some passengers may have to stand while waiting)” she said.

Quijano said they have brought these concerns to the attention of their head Ramon Dumayac.

She said a lot of people are also expected to travel even after the Christmas holidays. Cebu will also celebrate the Sinulog Festival and host the International Eucharistic Congress next month.

“Ang among preparations kay hasta napud sa International Eucharistic Congress ug sa Sinulog. Ga-expect nami’g daghan ug tao sa January,” she said.

(Our preparations extend to the International Eucharistic Congress and Sinulog. We’re expecting a lot of passengers in January.)
