Give your heart to the poor – Davide
CEBU Gov. Hilario Davide III called on Cebuanos to remember that Christmas is a time of giving and celebration of Jesus Christ’s birth with family and friends.
“Christmas is a celebration of family and friendship. It is also a time of giving. Atong ihatag sa katawhan, labi na sa mga kabos, ang atong mga kasing-kasing (Let us give our hearts to the people, especially the poor),” he said in a statement.
The governor said he hopes Cebuanos will not forget that Christmas is also a time for good causes.
In the midst of celebration, he said he hopes people will not forget their brethren who are sick and poor and those who suffered misfortune due to calamities.
“Let the spirit of Christmas revisit the humanity in us that we may be able to touch the lives of other people. May you have a meaningful Christmas celebration with your loved ones,” Davide said.
