The 37-year-old woman who was sustained a gunshot wound in the neck on New Year’s Eve was not a victim of stray bullet but was intentionally shot by her brother-in-law in sitio Kamansi, barangay Mabini, Cebu City.
Homicide police investigators visited the victim Jovelyn Cogtas Pocot at the hospital and claimed that he was shot by her brother-in-law Isabelo Bayon using a handgun.Initial report stated that Pocot was outside their house when a stray bullet reportedly hit her.
She was rushed to North General Hospital and was later transferred toVIncente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC).
There were four empty shells of .45 caliber recovered and a .38 calibber revolver was discovered on the roof of a nearby piggery.Police have yet to arrest Bayon.
