SMART Communications Incorporated’s subsidiary Talk ’N Text recently brought its disaster preparedness caravan to Negros Island and Antique.

Dubbed Pamilyang Ready, Pamilyang Panalo (PRPP), the nationwide  caravan aimed to help families in high-risk areas to prepare for emergencies and disasters through game-inspired learning sessions.

Children in the audience were treated to the film showing of  Maging Laging Handa videos, which feature precautionary measures and safety tips for various calamities.

The videos, which are integrated by the Department of Education in the Disaster Risk Reduction curriculum of elementary school students, are developed by Smart, and approved by the Philippine

Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Before  the event, Smart went house-to-house for three days, educating residents on preparedness.

Families were also asked to assemble their own emergency bags.
