A MAN was arrested while eight motorcycles were seized in Consolacion town, northern Cebu.

Jimmy Toñacao Piñez was arrested on Wednesday afternoon while dragging a stolen motorcycle in barangay San Roque, Cebu City, police said.

The motorcycle was owned by Harvey Demecillo Tibon, 43.

Tibon went to the police station after his motorcycle was stolen while it was parked outside his house in barangay Poblacion, Consolacion town.

A follow-up operation led to Piñez’s arrest.

Senior Insp. Wilson Abot, chief of the Consolacion police, said a Suzuki Skydrive, a Yamaha Mio, a Honda Wave, a Honda XRM and Yamaha Crypton were seized outside the man’s house.

Two more stolen motorcycles were recovered from a junk shop in barangay Jugan where stolen motorcycles are brought, according to Piñez.

Police said Piñez is a member of a carnapping group allegedly led by Pedro Belamala of barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City.
