THE SM Foundation Inc. will spearhead the launching of the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program on Thursday, Feb. 4.
The previous batch of trainees will hold the training in sitio Tabok Sapa, barangay Jaclupan, Talisay City, Cebu.
Together with SM Seaside City Cebu, the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan program provides farmers with more effective ways to increase fruit and vegetable production.
The program is similar to backyard farming, but is enhanced by new technology to produce better results.
It is a 12-step program that teaches farmers seed culture and propagation, irrigation and fertilizer application, among other skills.
The project is a joint undertaking of SM Foundation, SM Supermalls, Talisay City government, Department of Agriculture, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Harbest Agribusiness and SM Markets.
