THE SM Foundation launched the Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers’ Training (KSK-FT) Program in Barangay Jaclupan, Talisay City, Cebu last Feb. 4.
Resident farmers were gathered for the launch in partnership with the Talisay City government, Department of Agriculture, Harbest Agribusiness Corporation and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The program provides farmers with more effective ways to produce high-yield fruits and vegetables through backyard farming. It also teaches farmers about seed culture and propagation, irrigation and fertilizer application.
The launching was attended by SM Foundation for Livelihood assistant vice president Cristie Angeles, local government officials and agriculturists and Harbest Agribusiness Corporation representative.
In line with the training, a harvest festival will be held on May 5, followed by the farmers’ graduation on May 6.
