A TOTAL of 80 food vendors from Larsian and Cebu South Bus Terminal attended the food safety awareness seminar organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Germany’s AFOS Foundation for Entrepreneurial Development Cooperation and the Philippine Department of Science and Technology through its “Optimizing and Upscaling Roles in the Food Supply and Value Chain” Program, in cooperation with the Cebu City government and the Cebu Provincial government last Feb. 18 at the Rajah Park Hotel on Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City.
Food safety assures that the food will not cause harm to the consumers when it is eaten.
In her message during the seminar, Cebu City Councilor Mary Ann de los Santos, chair of the Committee on Health, emphasized that food safety equates to public health and that the knowledge on sanitation, hygiene and food safety is vital to all food service operations to guarantee that the food being served remains safe to eat.
