THE ST. Martin de Porres Special School, run by the Special Child Association of Cebu Foundation, recently celebrated its 50th founding anniversary.
It was held at the ballroom of the Casino Español de Cebu, where an elaborate program of songs and dances by the special children was much applauded by the packed audience.
President of the Special Child Association is Dr. Tina Jordana who was congratulated for the success of the event.
She has sent us a bunch of colorful photos that in themselves tell the story as no words could. We did write a full support of the event in our Sunday column of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
If we recall well, the Special Child Association and the St. Martin de Porres School were initiated by Dr. Concepcion Rodil Martires who donated the land where the school now stands.
Before Dr. Tina Jordana assumed the presidency it was her mother Martinita Larrauri de Jordana who presided the organization.
And before that, for many years, it was the late Loring Larraquel Victorino, assisted by her daughter Myrna Roa Ballesteros.
