Tallo rules King of the Rock hoops

TWO-TIME reigning Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) MVP Mark Jayven “Macmac” Tallo topped the Cebu leg of the Red Bull King of the Rock Philippines 2016 after he defeated Southwestern University teammate John Lloyd Luz on Saturday at the University of San Carlos North Campus gym along Mango Avenue.

Though Tallo and Luz grabbed the top two spots, they will be joined by six others who made it through the knockout style competition.

These are former University of San Carlos guard Dominic Adlawan, ex-University of San Jose-Recoletos forward Fletcher Galvez, Brian Gabasa, Karl del Pio, Jon Chua and Joevince Canizares.

The eight qualifiers will be heading to Manila to represent the Visayas in the national finals on March 19.

The Red Bull King of the Rock is the world’s most prestigious one-on-one street basketball tournament. Now in its sixth year, Red Bull King of the Rock is a global sporting fixture that continues to host great street basketball in truly unique locations all around the world.
