ASIDE from selling affordable vehicles, Indian automotive giant Mahindra will soon be offering a lineup of its reliable tractors in the country.
This after Mahindra, via the Gateway Group, opened its first tractor dealership in the country located at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
The dealership is expected to cater to businessmen in the agricultural industry not just in the Visayas region but also in the entire country.
Mahindra’s Vice President and Head for International Operations Pradeep Kumar and Deputy General Manager for International Operations Manoj Dalvi spearheaded the soft opening of the dealership last Wednesday. Joining them was Gateway Group President Markane Goho.
Kumar said Cebu was the best choice to open its first tractor dealership in the country because of its strategic location, being in the center of the country. He also cited that Cebu and its neighboring provinces are primary producers of sugar and have vast sugar cane plantations, which is very ideal for tractors.
According to Kumar, Mahindra’s tractors are known worldwide and that Mahindra is the largest tractor manufacturer in the world.
“We are exporting in 50 countries and we have already produced 200,000 tractors, 12 thousand in the US alone each year,” Kumar said.
One of the top models of Mahindra is the 9500 4WD series, which is a versatile tractor that can perform multiple functions.
