A man wanted for frustrated murder died after a lone assailant waylaid and shot him several times Thursday morning in Barangay Poblacion, Alcantara town in southern Cebu.
Gary Tabañag, 22, was on his way to get a haircut when he was ambushed, said Senior Police Officer 1 Nestor Tanilon. Tabañag sustained multiple gunshot wounds while the assailant fled on board a motorcycle toward the town proper.
Tanilon, Alcantara police investigator, said Tabañag had a pending warrant for frustrated murder.
Recovered from the crime scene were three empty shells of .45 caliber pistol and one deformed slug.
