A SUSPECT in the murder of a woman whose remains were placed in a box surrendered to the police on Tuesday afternoon.
Emidelio Salvador went to the regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group office to deny involvement in the death of Merymie Caburnay whose remàins were stuffed in a box that was left in a house in Lapu-Lapu City. Senior Supt. Marlon Tayaba, acting CIDG-7 chief, said Salvador, a resident of barangay Opra in Cebu City, owns the boarding house which Caburnay used to live in.
Tayaba said Salvador admitted that he was tasked to dispose of Caburnay’s remains but denied any hand in her death. “He identified the mastermind and told us the motive,” he said.
Tayaba declined to elaborate, saying that Salvador will remain in CIDG-7 custody pending further investigation on Caburnay’s death.
