GRAVITY-DEFYING stunts will once again entertain the residents of barangay Calambua in San Remigio town, northern Cebu as the opening leg of the 2016 MS Motosuit Motocross Series dubbed the 17th Ornopia Cup gets underway this Sunday.

“I always look back with pride that from our humble beginnings, we have reached this far. Modesty aside, it’s really not an easy thing to do, organizing a tedious event for 17 years already,” said MS Motosuit top honcho Lou Ornopia.

Ornopia had recently led the staging of a fun run and a basketball tournament in Calambua and this Sunday’s event promises to be another exciting  activity.

“I am glad that we’re able to sustain it. This would not have been possible without our benefactors who, in one way or another, have greatly contributed to our success,” added Ornopia, a former ‘Sportsman of the Year’ awardee by the Sportswriters Association of Cebu.

Ornopia said the race is expected to draw 50 daredevils coming from Dumaguete, Dipolog, Ormoc, Ozamiz and Manila.

Set to battle for supremacy are are Jonjon Adlawan, Jubenile Abellar, John Flores, JC Obligado, BJ Pepito, Ruscel Gungob and Jonathan Cuyos.

The race will have various categories such as peewee 50cc and 65cc; mini 85cc; beginners; local enduro; open enduro; executive A, B and C; novice; intermediate; expert; and the premiere pro open.
