STAYING true to its commitment to help develop young talents, the Giuseppe Football Club (GFC) will be holding another summer football clinic starting this Monday in Campo GFC in Sanchez Compound, Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.
In a press conference at the Giuseppe Pizzeria & Sicilian Roast yesterday, club founder Rachel Genco stressed that GFC remains committed to train and develop young players and coaches as part of its grassroots program advocacy.
Genco and co-founder Mylene Suarez are also planning to organize a mini-league with at least four brackets comprising four teams each.
GFC has 100 members—seventy of them are beneficiaries of the Giuseppe scholarship. The club also has an extended batch of 30 players who regularly play in Barangay Ponce-Capitol Site.
The tri-module clinic, which is open to boys and girls aged five to 15, will be headed by Italian football director Nicolo Ferrante, who arrived in Cebu yesterday.
Ferrante revealed that one of his plans is to send a Filipino team to the Viareggio Cup, an international youth tournament in Italy.
Participants in the upcoming clinic will be divided into two groups: the beginners and advanced divisions.
The first module will conclude on April 22. The second module will be held from May 2 to 12, while the last module will be from May 23 to June 2.
Registration fee for each module is pegged at P1,800.
