THE CEBU Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats dominated the middle periods to author a 91-78 victory over the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters in the 1st Barangay Tabunok Inter-Collegiate Basketball League on Thursday night at the Tabunok Sports Complex in Talisay City.
The Wildcats trailed by one, 20-21, after the opening 10 minutes of action but turned the tables around in the second where they uncorked a sizzling 25-15 blast that put them on top, 45-36.
That trend continued in the third where the Wildcats of head coach Bembem Alcaraz outscored the Webmasters by six to open up a 68-53 lead heading to the final canto.
CIT-U had five players scoring in double-figures led by the 18 of Joshua dela Cerna and the 16 of new recruit, James Ferraren. The backcourt of Marlo Pono, Karl Lucena and Steve Bucao also flashed their deadly form and combined for 35 points.
Justine Dacalos was the high-point man for UC with 21. He was supported by the 18 of Peter Codilla.
