San Francisco police stopped a man on a motorcycle, who openly carried a .22 caliber air rifle, and found more guns hidden in the motorcycle’s compartment in Barangay Himesulan, San Francisco town, Camotes Islands last Tuesday.
PO3 Rongy Cidro, chief investigator of San Francisco Police, said they arrested Elmax Castardo, 41, after they found a 9 mm pistol with five bullets, a .357 caliber revolver with five bullets and three magazines of M16 rifle.
Cidro said they were conducting a follow-up investigation on the recent strafing of the house of Barangay Captain Reynaldo Maranga when they chanced upon Castardo with his air rifle .
Aside from the guns and ammunition, Cidro said they also confiscated 30 sachets of suspected shabu, which are estimated to be worth P12,000, as well as assorted drug paraphernalia.
