SWU to field in boys volleyball team in Cesafi

AFTER winning three out of four titles in last year’s Cesafi volleyball tournament, powerhouse Southwestern University (SWU) will be eyeing a sweep this year as they finally field in a high school boys team in the upcoming season that starts on July.

In last year’s competition, SWU won both men’s and women’s collegiate titles and the high school girls crown. They failed to complete the sweep since they didn’t field in a boys squad.

Multi-titled head coach Dave Arreza expressed his pleasure of finally having a boys’ team after failing to form one last year due to lack of players.
Arreza said there were a lot who tried out but he still has yet to finalize the lineup. He added that most of those who tried out were spikers from the different towns of the province such as Moalboal, Barili, Bantayan and Sta Fe.

When finally complete, the Baby Cobras will be competing against reigning title holders University of San Jose-Recoletos, University of San Carlos, University of Southern Philippines-Foundation and the Don Bosco Technological Center.
