AROUND 300 smashers from all over Cebu province are expected to participate in the 7th Gabriel Suico Age Group Badminton Tournament slated May 28 and 29 at the Metro Sports Center in Lahug, Cebu City.
Tournament organizer Suico said the event aims to promote camaraderie, wellness and sportsmanship among young athletes.
Suico, who is a former University of San Carlos coach and currently a mentor at the Cebu City Sports Commission, referred to this tournament as part of his mission in life.
“I am hoping that we will come and discover the genuine talent of our badminton athletes who will be our future pride in regional and national tournaments,” Suico told Cebu Daily News.
Registration fee for the first entry is pegged at P600 while a second entry fee is P500. Deadline for registration will be on May 20.
