OVER a hundred passengers and crew of a Cebu Pacific flight from Davao City were directed to disembark amid report of a bomb supposedly planted in the aircraft.

A SWAT team arrived in the area along with fire trucks, police and emergency personnel as soon as the plane landed.

Senior Supt. Raul Bargamento, chief of Aviation Security said they received a text message from an unknown sender claiming that a bomb was planted in Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 594 which came from the Davao City airport.

Bargamento said a sweep of the plane and its luggage area failed to produce any sign of a bomb. He said they are investigating the incident.

Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 594 left Davao City Airport at Friday morning and carried 178 people including the crew.

Passengers were immediately loaded up inside a bus upon landing and brought to the passenger terminal.

The pilot was ordered to position the plane in the northern side of the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

Passengers underwent a security check before they were allowed to retrieve their baggage.
