Volkswagen Philippines will offer more variants of its popular Golf hatchback in the country.
On the multi-awarded Golf badge’s 42nd year in the motoring scene, the Highline and Comfortline variants will join its sporty sibling in the country, expanding the fun-to-drive hatchbacks available in the country.
The Golf’s sport performance variant, the GTI, was launched early in 2015.
Manufactured in Germany since 1974, the Volkswagen Golf’s enduring popularity is a testament to the precision craftsmanship of German automotive engineering and design. Seven generations of the Golf were introduced over the last four decades.
Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), seven airbags, Engine Drag Torque Control (MRS), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) with XDS, and a Regenerative Braking System all come as standard in the new variants.

Powering both is a 1.4-liter TSI Turbo 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a Blue Motion Start/Stop system managed by a 7-speed DSG that produces a maximum output of 150 Ps at 5,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm. This system ensures great fuel efficiency without compromising on the power when you need it most.
Exclusive to the Highline are bi-xenon headlamps with headlamp washer and LED daytime running lights, dynamic headlight range adjustment with dynamic cornering lights, and an auto headlight activation with separate daytime running lights.
The interior of the Highline variant is highlighted by the “Vienna” leather seats and a Climatronic 2-zone air-conditioning system with rear A/C vent.
The Golf Highline 1.4 TSI DSG is priced at P1,739,000 while the Golf Comfortline 1.4 TSI DSG goes for P1,590,000.
Both models are available in the Pure White, Sunset Red Metallic, Limestone Grey and Deep Black Pearl. Pacific Blue is exclusively available for the Golf Comfortline.
The Golf and other Volkswagen models are available at the Volkswagen Cebu dealership along A. Soriano Avenue at the North Reclamation Area.
Other Volkswagen dealerships in the country are in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Quezon Avenue in Quezon City; Sheridan Street in Mandaluyong City; and Molito Lifestyle Building in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
