THE Cebu provincial government’s Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) conducted a reorientation seminar last Tuesday for its drivers at the Capitol Social Hall.

The event was attended by 75 Capitol employees. Another batch will undergo the reorientation seminar on May 3.

According to speaker Vic Ross Caburnay of the Land Transportation Office, the seminar was aimed to reorient the drivers about the basics of defensive driving.

Training assistant Ruth Penlot of the HRMO said the event is usually held every year.

Penlot said the reorientation seminar also aimed to update the drivers about the recent guidelines and penalties released by the Land Transportation Office. “Usually man gud, ang mga drivers nga nag serve na ug 30 years sa government di lang gihapon familiar sa mga road signs nga panagsa ra nila makita (Usually, drivers who have been working with the government for the past 30 years are still not familiar with the road signs that they seldom see). Now they will be refreshed,” she explained.

Participants of the event included ambulance drivers of provincial hospitals. The afternoon part of the seminar covered vehicle preventive maintenance that was handled by Tesda.
