CBM wins 23 golds in Antique

THE CEBU City Blue Marlins (CBM) Swimming Club added 12 gold medals, 13 silvers and 10 bronze medals in the last day of the 2nd Governor Exequiel Javier Invitational Age-Group Swimfest in Antique last Saturday.

CBM ended the two-day tournament with a an unofficial medal haul of 23 gold medals, 23 silvers and 13 bronze medals.

Leading the gold medalists for CBM was University of Cebu’s (UC) Trina Caneda, who hauled six gold medals. She won in the 200m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 200m individual medley (IM).

Fellow UC tankers also made waves as Mai Kabawata collected four gold medals (100m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 200m individual medley and 50m freestyle) and Shane Allyne Pareja bagged three gold medals (50m and 100m breaststroke and 200m IM).

Other CBM swimmers who won golds were Bright Academy’s Justine Reign Garrido (50m and 100m breaststrokes), UC’s Karen Mae Indaya (200m IM), Rafael John Dacaldacal (100m breaststroke) and Jobert Indaya (200m IM).
